Strategic Plan
The 2021-2026 Strategic Plan reflects the Fraser Basin Council’s strategic priorities, the way in which we carry out work and how we define success.
The Strategic Plan is the framework for FBC’s annual operating plans, partnerships, work plans and all our decisions to devote time, money and energy to fulfillment of the mandate.
This five-year plan sets out our three areas of focus: on climate change, watersheds and water resources, and sustainable, resilient communities.
It articulates key objectives and strategies for each of these, strategic opportunities and some of the trends of importance.
There are nine principles articulated in the plan:
- 1
Take a long-term stewardship view
- 2
Foster equity and prosperity for all British Columbians
- 3
Redefine prosperity
- 4
Recognize our dependence on a healthy environment
- 5
Acknowledge that natural resources contribute to social well-being and economic prosperity
- 6
Advance reconciliation in collaboration with Indigenous Nations and Peoples to uphold the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
- 7
Respect local solutions for local needs
- 8
Implement informed and integrated decision-making
- 9
Take bold and decisive action
