Ask an Energy Specialist

The Fraser Basin Council invites Indigenous communities and housing societies in BC to participate in “Ask an Energy Specialist.”

Project Overview

“Ask an Energy Specialist” is a service that aims to support Indigenous communities and housing societies that have an interest in housing energy efficiency. The program offers short-term guidance (3-18 hours) from an Energy Specialist on energy efficiency planning and implementation.

How it Works

When you contact us, the Fraser Basin Council will ask you some questions to help get an overview of the energy efficiency work to date and identify specific areas you are looking for guidance.

The areas of support may include:

  • Community Energy Planning

  • Finding and Selecting Contractors

  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning

  • Monitoring and Benchmarking Performance

  • Project Management

  • Financing and Funding Resources

  • Building Enclosure and Systems

  • Lighting, Appliances and Home Automation

  • General Energy Management for Housing and Planning

  • Community Engagement / Working with Residents

When the focus area and desired outcome are identified, FBC will arrange a series of consultancy meetings with an Energy Specialist to offer your community guidance.
